Clear your Clipboard on Windows

EDIT: Looks like the “clipbrd.exe” file isn’t included with Windows Vista. To counteract this, you can copy the file over from a Windows XP installation to your System32 directory in Windows Vista. ;)

Here’s how to easily clear, display, and manage your clipboard data.

  1. Right click on your desktop.
  2. Hover your mouse over “New”.
  3. Click “Shortcut”.
  4. Type in the following location into the box that appears. C:\WINDOWS\system32\clipbrd.exe
  5. Name the shortcut “Clipboard Viewer”.
  6. Once completed double click on your newly created shortcut.
  7. The Clipboard viewer application will appear. From here you can manipulate your clipboard data.
  8. To delete the data on your clipboard (if any) click the “X” in the toolbar. Not the “X” at the top right of the window. ;)
